Practice Update March 2022
Happy Spring Equinox! I hope this message finds you well, enjoying the longer days and (sometimes) warmer weather.
I’m writing this message with a whole mix of emotions. Over the past year that I dreamed Revolutions into existence, I imagined a place where people could participate in their health care and feel deeply heard and seen. I feel proud of what I was able to create in such a short time, and the supportive Tacoma community that helped make it happen.
As many of you know, I have been on family medical leave since the beginning of March to support my husband through some chronic mental health conditions. It has become clear to us during this time that while we love Tacoma, we really need to be closer to family and friends. We moved here in 2020 for a new job for me (that didn’t work out, hence the birth of Revolutions!), which was a pretty horrible time to move in terms of setting down roots and building community.
Unfortunately, this means that I will be closing Revolutions Midwifery in Tacoma as we start to make preparations for a move back to Portland later this spring/early summer. I don’t know yet what form my practice will take in Portland–there’s a lot to still be worked out.
If you are a current patient and need one last visit before May, please send me an email so I can get you scheduled. Otherwise, I am not taking new clients at this time. If you need medical records, feel free to reach out–I will maintain your chart for the legally required time set by Washington statute, which is ten years. I am easily able to fax them to you or another provider.
My email and phone number will remain active, so feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
My deepest gratitude to each of you for entrusting me with your care. It has been an honor and privilege to be your midwife.
Warmly,
Lena Wood, CNM, ARNP, PMH-C
